Job Summary:

This position is part of NRG’s Retail Services Group and is responsible for ensuring quality collections services are delivered by Dunning Operations Representatives. The primary role of this position is under general direction to handle complex collections and dunning analysis, special projects, and find ways to maximize company revenue and minimize bad debt.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Use Analytical skills to review A/R aging reports and identify areas in need of concentration.

  • Recommend solutions to prevent excessively aged accounts.

  • Recommend and manage collections policies and procedures for residential and commercial accounts.

  • Collect data from internal and external sources to facilitate meaningful analysis.

  • Provide support for daily activities and reporting of disconnect and dunning activity.

  • Coordinate activities necessary to resolve escalated disconnects.

  • Provide innovative solutions and make recommendations to all levels of management.

  • Have a general knowledge and understanding of the SAP dunning process to enable user acceptance testing of dunning changes.

  • Be able to trace accounts through the dunning process and troubleshoot issues.

  • Perform user acceptance testing under the direction of the Operations Manager.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid fast-paced office environment with a high-volume workload.

  • Some overtime is required as special projects arise.

  • Travel (minimal).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, or Computer Science required from an accredited four-year university; 2 years’ experience as a Business Analyst can substitute for a degree.

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in back-office operations and demonstrated abilities in problem-solving and team projects. Knowledge of the utility and/or deregulated energy industry is a plus. SAP/CCS/ERM processing knowledge is desired.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-year previous experience as a Business Analyst is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of the utility industry.

  • Knowledge of the energy market.

  • Working knowledge of SAP CCS/FICA system.

  • Advanced Excel Skills.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Demonstrated self-starter who can operate and perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision or direction.

  • Ability to use fundamental math daily (add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages).

  • Able to not just produce data, but to analyze trends and make recommendations.

  • Outstanding initiative.

  • Excellent written and oral business communication skills.

  • Proficient with standard office workstation technology, including Microsoft Office suite of software tools.
