Philips Electronic Development Engineer (m/w/d) in Böblingen, Germany

In this role, you have the opportunity

to support the world market leader in the development of its patient monitoring systems product line through your contribution in the area of electronic hardware development as well as point of contact for other development sites within Philips.

You will work in close cooperation with various other departments within the international R&D organization.

This job requires the ability to familiarize yourself quickly and in detail with various areas, as well as outstanding communication skills in English and excellent technical expertise.

Your role:

  • You are responsible to define and develop our Next Generation ARM/Linux CPU System which is one of the main element in our Hospital Patient Monitor. This also includes the definition and implementation of all necessary internal and external interfaces to provide state of the art connectivity.

  • Furthermore, you are also responsible to check and optimize the design and to integrate that into the Patient Monitor.

  • Your development activities are based on the Product Requirements as well as Philips reference architecture requirements.

  • You are also responsible for a documentation in compliance with our design controls process

You are a part of

the Electronics Design team for defining and developing a hardware platform for various patient monitors.

With around 900 employees, Philips Medizin Systeme Böblingen develops and produces patient monitoring systems for the global market. They are used primarily in emergency and intensive care medicine, pregnancy and newborn monitoring, surgery and anesthesia. With more than 1 million monitors installed worldwide, Philips is the market leader in this field.

You are the right fit if:

  • Degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering, computer engineering or equivalent (FH, DH, Uni)

  • In-depth knowledge and several years of experience in development of electronic circuits, ideally for medical devices

  • Very good communication and conflict resolution skills

  • Pursue your goals conscientiously, have a high-quality awareness and feel responsible for your tasks

  • Willing to continuously learn new things and adapt to new situations and are interested in new technologies, methods, and approaches

  • High ability to organize yourself and are willing to integrate into a global team to achieve ambitious goals together

  • Knowledge of the CAD system Mentor Xpedition (Schematic Input and Constraint Management)

  • Fluency in English (oral & written) and German beneficial
