Location: 850 76th Street S.W. - Byron Center, Michigan 49315 Job Description: Responsible for performing database administration and overseeing the planning, design, administration, operation, and maintenance of all database systems. This role will be responsible for policies, procedures, security and ensuring data integrity. Responsible for day-to-day database operations, performance tuning and general support for a development and production environment and will help to provide high availability and good backup and disaster recovery procedures to meet Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO). This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical aptitude and excellent communication skills. Provides technical guidance to the application development and production support teams on troubleshooting database and database-related issues. Handle general problems on own authority and make sound judgments based on diagnostic information. Demonstrate initiative beyond directly assigned tasks, require minimal supervision, and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish objectives. Contribute and execute the company strategic goals to make sure that databases are supporting business growth and client requirements, advising company on technical resources. Information Technology professional associates must understand potential vulnerabilities in systems and applications that they support and manage updates and fixes in accordance with internal security policies and standards. Systems should be managed to minimize and mitigate risks. IT Associates must work with other non-IT associates across different departments to ensure that security systems are working smoothly to reduce the organization's operational risks in the face of a security attack. Here's what you'll do: * Identifies database requirements by interviewing customers; analyzing department applications, programming, and operations; evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems. * Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications. * Installs revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts, recommending optimum access techniques, and coordinating installation requirements. * Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end. * Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes. * Collaborate with Data Scientists, Business Analysts, Architect, and Senior Developers to establish physical application framework for enterprise scale data solutions on-premises or in Cloud environments. * Build processes for database upgrade/patch existing databases and associated software in accordance with vendor best practices. * Identifies and performs real-time actions to achieve quick return to service, perform multifaceted root cause analysis across domains and implement corrective measures to prevent future service interruptions. * Provide consultation to application development teams on databases technical issues and techniques. * Oversee, design, and implement processes for the company's databases environment security, provide recommendations for impro
