If you are looking for a rewarding career, we encourage you to apply to join our team at AWARE.Responsibilities:All job tasks and functions must be performed under the auspices of AWARE's Core Values and Unconditional Care Philosophy:Understanding the various types of disabilities, their impact on individuals’ lives, and the challenges they may face in community integration.Knowledge of available community resources, programs, and services that support individuals with disabilities in areas such as healthcare, education, employment, housing, transportation, and recreational activities to get the client connected.The ability to understand and complete the process of transitioning individuals with disabilities from institutions to community settings.Knowledge of person-centered planning, Individualized Education/Treatment Programs (IEPs), and other transition-related frameworks.Promote the rights and inclusion of individuals with disabilities.Help to organize a client’s schedule and plan appointments.Arrange transportation to doctors’ offices or other outings.Keep clients engaged in their social networks and communities.Build effective relationships, collaborate with community organizations, service providers, employers, and other stakeholders to develop inclusive programs, initiatives, and employment opportunities.Identify barriers to community integration and develop creative solutions.Skill in providing guidance and emotional support to individuals with disabilities and their families.Use technology for communication, documentation, data management, and research.Maintain attendance, ethical behavior and demonstrate ability to successfully fulfill assigned duties:Develop professional and courteous relations with a diverse group of people.Valid driver’s license with good driving record; Ability to pass training for operation of bus/van.Apply active treatment principles, including trauma informed care, therapeutic interventions, Behavior Management, and be able to communicate these principles with a clear and obvious understanding.Attends and participates in mandatory training, in-services, staff meetings, and Corporate Committees as assigned.Upon hiring, will undergo training and will be expected to pass testing in the following areas: H.E.L.P (de-escalation and therapeutic holds), Medication Certification, First Aid/CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens, Safety Health Emergency and Disaster (SHED) Safety, Safe Vehicle Operations, Safety Data Sheet (SDS), HIPPA, Professional Care Giver, and AWARE’s Behavioral Competency (ABC).Utilizes and accurately records data using AWARE’s Electronic Medical Records System as assigned, outlined, and trained.Excited to Join our organization? To learn more please visit AWARERequirementsTalents, skills, and abilities: Good organizational skills and administrative abilities.Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work including weekends.Familiarity with Montana’s Developmental Disabilities System, community support systems, health care and human service resources, court, and police activities, etc.Experience in human services, skill in working with individuals with developmental disabilities and with individuals undergoing acute episodes of psychiatric distress.A thorough understanding of the above-noted services, individuals, resources, and tools.
