Bolton & Menk is looking to add aSurvey Technicianto our Burnsville team. What you will be doing:
Assists in the production of survey drawings as directed.
Performs basic survey computations.
Uses CAD and other survey/engineering software for basic survey drawing preparation.
Researches existing survey/engineering records.
Assists with survey field operations as directed.
Operates survey instruments (i.e. Total Stations, Data Collector, levels and GPS equipment) and resolves operation issues.
Collects and processes field measurements and data for engineering and surveying projects.
Assists with construction staking.
Travels periodically to work site and other project related locations.
What we are looking for:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Land Surveying Technology, or equivalent OR three year's of related experience or coursework.
Good interpersonal written & verbal communication skills.
Good time management, organizational and problem solving skills.
Advanced math skills.
Good attention to detail.
Demonstrates ability to learn survey and engineering concepts.
Developing knowledge of Trimble equipment and software. (Trimble Access & Trimble Business Center)
Developing knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. (MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook)
Entry level knowledge and skills in CAD and survey software. (i.e. AutoCAD Civil3D, Microstation)
Possess a valid driver’s license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required.
