Overview
Fairview is looking for a Security Officer to join our Security team at our Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN.
Job Summary:
Ensures a safe & secure environment for all M Health Fairview employees, patients, guests, stakeholders, and communities through proactive leadership, agility, and a holistic organizational approach. Provides for the safety and security of patients, visitors, staff and property by responding to needs of hospital patients, visitors and staff, helping and providing excellent customer service standards. Proactively works to prevent theft and vandalism. May be involved in high-risk situations with exposure to potentially dangerous situations which requires range of safety precautions.

1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period)
night shift
Friday- Tuesday 11p-730a

Specialty Care Center Fairview Ridges Hospital has expanded services to provide even more comprehensive, specialized care to the Minnesota River Valley. The Fairview Ridges Specialty Care Center will be home to a day surgery center, an imaging center, a heart center, cardiac rehabilitation, oncology, orthopedic services, a retail pharmacy and a home medical equipment store. The hospital also expanded its services to include a new laboratory, refurbished pediatric unit with larger child- and family-friendly rooms, a new orthopedic spine unit and an observation unit.

Responsibilities Job Description
Job Expectations:
Patrols designated areas according to established procedures and documents patrols in daily shift reports
Documents daily activities in report writing system
Provide assistance to patients, visitors and staff
Respond to calls for services
Assist in the control (often physical) of potentially violent individuals which requires strength, stamina, flexibility, and critical thinking
Works with potentially unpredictable individuals requiring teamwork and communication with other security officers
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements
Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned
Qualifications
Required
Experience
Two years security or customer service or military experience, or
Associates degree and one year of security or customer service experience, or
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
License/Certification/Registration
- Valid Class D Driver’s License and DMV record which meets Fairview Insurability requirements for assignments that require the operation of a motor vehicle.

Certified Peace Officer (POST)
Emergency Med Tech Basic (EMT-B)
Additional Requirements (must be obtained or completed within a period of time):
- Pass pre-assignment training within probationary period.
Compensation
$23.15 -$32.69 / Hourly
