The Career - What You Will Do Apothecary Products, LLC (APL) is currently seeking a talented Press Operator to join our team in Burnsville, Minnesota! In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a flexographic press producing a high-quality product while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. The Opportunity: Day Shift hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm with periodic overtime Operate flexographic presses according to operating procedures while meeting safety, quality, and expected output. Examine job orders to determine details such as quantities to be printed, production times, and colors to ensure setup meets customer and company specifications. Accountable for set-up and start-up of machine; select, and mount and/or install, printing plates, rollers, feed guides, inks, and dies, according to equipment specifications, using hand tools and available lift equipment. Monitor feeding and printing of press to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions and/or quality errors, minimizing waste; troubleshoot and make adjustments to guides and tensions, among other settings as needed. Accurately read and follow standard work, procedures, and other work instructions for work area(s). Complete accurate records of production output, scrap, material usage, quality checks, and labor hours according to standard work procedures and good documentation practices. Continuously inspect and report product defects based upon quality checklist standards, escalating to Production leadership as needed. Take initiative and proactively keep processes and tasks moving by understanding, referencing, and using the production schedules and metrics. Prepare and package finished product, including repackaging as needed, boxing, printing, and applying labels, and palletizing. Complete operator-level preventative maintenance activities on assigned equipment, including lubrication and roller inspection according to equipment specifications, and documenting daily, weekly, and monthly operator-level preventative maintenance activities. Accountable for press shut-down activities including plate removal, ink clearing and cleanup of ink decks, and materials disposal according to company procedures and safety protocols. Keep work area neat and clean according to quality check list standards. Maintain and clean all machines before and after each shift according to company procedure. Qualifications + Experience: We seek applicants with these critical skills and experience: High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years previous flexographic printing experience Ability to setup/change over equipment in a safe and timely manner Strength in troubleshooting equipment Working knowledge of UV inks and lamps Working knowledge of hot melt adhesives and water-based glues Strong mechanical abilities and knowledge Strong mathematical skills using metric system Able to work in an environment of changing priorities Ability to mentor/train others successfully on equipment Must be highly motivated and dedicated to exceeding customer expectations Positive attitude, reliable with excellent work ethic Must be able to effectively work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities Flexibility and willingness to cross-train Preferred qualifications include: 5+ years solid work experience in similar role In-line, 3-web printing experience The Company - Why Choose Us Founded in 1975, Apothecary Products, LLC is a consumer products company focused on making life better for our consumers and the people that they care for.
