Actalent Electromechanical Test Engineer in Burnsville, Minnesota
Description:
Performs Test Engineering tasks for all product test stages from requirement definition and test planning (test plan development) to test procedure development, through test conduct to test report development and final qualification approval. The goal is to thoroughly test and verify that the fabricated mechanical components or electrical assemblies meet customer requirements. Perform a full lifecycle product qualification (plan development, procedure development, test conduct and test report development)
Test systems and components to ensure that they meet needs and requirements per the expectations of the customer
Conduct qualification tests methodically per the test procedures, analyze and interpret results and document requirement failures requiring product design changes
Identify the necessary test equipment required to thoroughly test the products
Identify and formulate effective regression test efforts following a product design change
Estimate budget and scope of proposed qualification test efforts
Prepare product reports and documentation
Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Electro-Mechanical Testing (both Environmental, Electrical Systems, & Power / EMI testing). Will have some SW capabilities within Linux and Python basic software programs. For documentation (MS Office & Word) and system start up and running. Communications systems racking exp. and Telecom would be nice.
Testing of Mechanical structures and Electrical components, connectors and wiring/cabling power & transmission (Ethernet, Fiber and power). Familiar with testing tools and execute some testing.
50% hands on doing testing and lab documentation sometime opening up cabinets to investigate issues. 50% documentation technical writing of procedures and testing instructions and outcomes/results and parameters of testing (pass/fail) standards.
Must have Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar STEM discipline
