Requirements
Level 2 General Insurance License
Minimum 4 years progressive Commercial Insurance, underwriting experience, broker experience considered an asset
Superior risk assessment ability
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
Completion of industry-related designation (CAIB, CIP, CRM, etc), or actively working on completion
A Day in the Life
Underwrite new and renewal business, cancellations and endorsements
Provide underwriting support on all in-house programs
Lloyd’s IHF and other new IHF markets as they come aboard
Aviva Machinery Breakdown
Assist and provide back-up for processing of in-house business
Grow in-house facilities with focus on profitability
Follow Underwriting Guidelines, info/instruction summaries for Placement and Sales team
Audits (prepare and participate with auditors, reply to requests)
Participate in renewal process of IHF and in periodic meetings as required
Review existing book of HUB business to see if current accounts can be re-written through our in-house facilities
Liaise with Sales and Placement teams on initiatives to increase the flow of business to our in-house contracts
Policy Works
Rate & underwrite within the policy works system

The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
