Safety Representative General Summary The Safety Representative is responsible for assisting with the implementation and supervision of all safety and accident prevention programs on projects and work sites as directed by Company management. Analyze needs and determine specifications for protective safety equipment, materials and gear. Directs surveillance inspections and controls hazardous working conditions or unsafe employee activities. Ensures required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted in accordance with established Company procedures. Ensures that both company and client safety rules and applicable governmental safety requirements are enforced at the jobsite. Essential Job Functions * Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concern * Performs all duties as assigned and adheres to TEAM's Core Values. * Provides direction to jobsite supervisors in safe work practices, company and client work practices and applicable governmental regulations on the jobsite. * Resolves safety concerns in the field in a timely manner. * Communicates with management and clients providing updates on safety activities. * Manages employee safety training program and maintains program records ensuring that all employees have successfully completed established training requirements. * Investigates, reports, and follows-up on all work related injuries and accidents. * Manages the distribution of personal protective equipment ensuring that all employees are equipped with the appropriate protection. * Coordinates investigation of local safety incidents, near misses, and property damage. Reports all incidents to Division Safety Manager and assists in high-level incidents as directed. * Conducts Root Cause Analysis utilizing recognized methodology (Think Reliability, Tap Root, Apollo, etc) to determine appropriate corrective actions. * Assists in the development of incident reviews for Company and Client personnel as directed. * Conducts new hire safety orientations. * Performs in-house training regarding site safety and safety related regulations. * Writes Site Safety Plans (SSPs), Project Safety Plans, and Safety Execution Plans (SEPs) as directed. * Assists management in generating new policies, procedures and/or programs related to safety. * Performs site safety audits on a regular basis. Assists field personnel in complying with OSHA, EPA and other regulatory requirements. * Maintains monitoring instruments. * Proactively seeks new ways to improve overall safety performance and employee well-being in the field. Job Qualifications * Previous safety experience of 3+ years of related field experience with 2 years dedicated to safety or 2 years field experience with a recognized safety related 22 year or 4 year degree or safety certification preferred. * Safety certificate (s), including COSS, CSST, etc. * Must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft Office applications - Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. * Ability to define problems, collect and document data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of situations and events and respond accordingly. Ability to seek counsel, when needed, from appropriate resources. * Communicates effectively with field labor employees, management staff and clients to relay company safety requirement and expectations. * Ability to read, comprehend and act on simple instructions. Ability to calculate basic math figures.
