Job Title: Maintenance Technician II
Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician II, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on facility and process equipment, addressing equipment downtime, and completing various maintenance and engineering projects. This position requires 4-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or 2 years of maintenance experience with a recognized trade certification.
Responsibilities
Maintain compliance with all company policies.
Ensure personal compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and recommend measures to improve health and safety within the facility.
Demonstrate safe work practices and follow company safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including Lock Out/Tag Out practices.
Provide recommendations to improve preventative/predictive maintenance tasks to optimize equipment availability.
Be an effective team player and work well with all other departments.
Adhere to work orders and utilize the CMMS system for data entry.
Perform unplanned and planned maintenance on production and facility equipment using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record work completed.
Complete small electrical and/or mechanical projects as directed by the Team Lead or Supervisor.
Diagnose basic to medium complex electrical systems, mechanical components, pneumatic components, and controls to identify hazards, defects, and need for adjustments, repairs, or programming.
Maintain and perform repairs on equipment to restore them to proper, safe, and optimal working conditions.
Support installation, setup, modification, and relocation of equipment to accommodate or improve production requirements.
Read electrical and electronic schematics/diagrams, and basic hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
Test low voltage electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
Maintain an organized workplace that complies with housekeeping requirements.
If certified, wire new control panels according to supplied drawings and verbal instructions while adhering to Hydro Codes and other applicable standards and regulations.
If certified, make trade calculations for load requirements and select appropriate sizes/grades of components in accordance with current electrical code.
If certified, run new power supply lines to new/relocated equipment according to IEE wiring regulations, Electrical Safety Code, and company policy.
Ability to work rotating shifts, overnights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Must be able to lift upwards of 50lbs.
Essential Skills
Experience in electrical, troubleshooting, and maintenance technician roles.
Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance.
Experience with maintenance management and supervision.
Proficiency with CMMS and PLC troubleshooting.
Understanding of pneumatics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to read wiring diagrams, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, and ladder/function block logic.
Working knowledge of industrial PCs and PLCs (Siemens Step 7, Beckhoff TwinCat, etc.) and electric circuitry consisting of contactors, relays, main voltage/control voltage, limit switches, and proximity sensors.
Knowledge of equipment setup, functions, operating procedures, and preventative maintenance techniques.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment, PLC systems, robots, AC & DC drives, servo drives, motion controls, safety sensors, and relays.
Basic knowledge of single and 3-phase electrical systems is preferred.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office for daily tasks.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional team members.
Mechanical aptitude/interest.

Work Environment
The work environment is a manufacturing setting that can be very hot due to the machines generating a lot of heat. The facility is clean, and steel-toed shoes are required. No additional medical certifications are necessary.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $79000.00
