Catholic Community Services Community Support Specialist (P/T Flex) - Skagit WISe Program in Burlington, Washington

Overview

Part-time Flex position –(20-37.5 hours per week,mustbe available to work after school hours during the school year)starting at $23.10 - $24.26/hr. (D.O.E) with COMPETITIVE BENEFITS INCLUDING:

    Per the current CBA, union positions will be subject to a 3% increase 7.1.24 and a 7% increase 7.1.25 .

    Program Description: The WISe program provides an integrated and flexible array of strengths-based services and intensive supports to families with children who have serious mental health and other needs. All services are delivered with the following core values in mind: safety of the child, family and community, flexible and responsive, family driven; normative, family oriented, strengths based, comprehensive and collaborative, unconditional, individualized and culturally relevant. Position Description: The Community Support Specialist provides in-home and community support and supervision for children and families. This includes implementation of the treatment plan and communicating with foster parents, parents, therapists, and other treatment team members.

    For internal candidates/union positions only:Compensation is set by agreed to language in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between CCSNW & SEIU 1199NW and determined based on experience.

Responsibilities

Follow service plan as developed and directed:

  • Child supervision or monitoring.

  • Planning and participating in social/recreational activities with child.

  • Assisting in developing child’s social skills; role modeling.

  • Tutoring or assistance with school work and other specific skills.

  • Listening/supporting companionship.

  • Transportation as requested.

  • Providing parental respite or in-home support as specified by treatment team.

  • Other specific activities as assigned.

    Attend team meetings:

  • Provider team meetings, as requested.

  • Case staffing, consultation, as requested.

  • CSS supervision - one-to-one and/or group, as assigned.

    Paperwork/Documentation:

  • Complete documentation of contacts with clients in timely and appropriate fashion.

  • Complete billing documents in timely manner.

  • Other written reports and documentation as required.

    Access to and protection of PHI:

  • Responsible for upholding a culture of privacy and security in highly confidential work environment (HIPAA covered entity service area).

  • Complies with all CCSWW policies and procedures that involve access to and safeguarding of client Protected Health Information (all forms).

  • Other work related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 1 year direct experience working with children in a professional setting and/or demonstrated life experience.

  • Ability and willingness to obtain WA State Agency Affiliate Counselor Certification.

  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.

  • Proof of acceptable driving record (Full Record Driving Abstract from the WA DOL).

  • Some College or post high school education.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

  • Knowledgeable of family and cultural differences.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team model.

  • Criminal History Background Checks are required prior to employment.

    PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Counseling or related field.

  • Knowledge of child development and parenting issues.

  • CPR/First Aid Certified (Infant/Child/ Adult).

  • Bilingual Spanish Speaking
