Eaton Corporation Marketing Director in Burlington, Ontario

Eaton’s Electrical Sector Americas Canada division is seeking a Marketing Director to join our leadership team at our head office in Burlington, ON. Relocation is offered for this position. This position requires 50% travel.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the SVP-GM for the Canada Division, the Marketing Director will lead a team of product managers in developing and executing a strategy for growth through new and existing products and analytics-based offerings. The incumbent will oversee the commercial operations team including project managers, analytics and customer service. The Marketing Director’s accountability will span strategy, market segmentation, new business development, pricing models and competitive analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Marketing and EatonCare functions, ensuring focus on external messaging to customer, distributors and partners.

  • Drive the partnership between Product Management and Sales to ensure that the value propositions are clearly defined to our external customers and creating a go-to-market plan.

  • Oversee the project management team to help ensure timely, transparent and efficient order management.

  • Direct the development, use and expansion of digital tools and customer interfaces.

  • Support the development of the Division's product roadmap and profit planning as well as the Division strategy alignment.

  • Manage and expand the product training function to balance internal (sales) and external (customer & channel) capabilities development.

  • Direct and coordinate all market segment activities to develop and implement long range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives.

  • Oversee business market intelligence function to ensure adequate business analysis and reporting.

  • Lead the creation of the annual marketing plan along with development of marketing materials, sales tools, trade show participation and advertising strategy to succeed in that space.

  • Support development of the divisional pricing strategy and business model development.

  • Develop team to obtain future skills necessary to support the business’ strategy.

  • Ensure robust succession and development plans are in place in order to meet future needs of the organization and business continuity.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in managing and leading a business or functional organization with a track record in delivering on relevant key performance indicators

  • Minimum of 15 years of managerial experience in Engineering, Finance, Production Management, Marketing or Sales. Proven leadership capability at a senior level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced technical degree from accredited educational institution.

  • Knowledge of power distribution, control products, as well as project management.

  • Previous experience leading a P&L

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and resolve complaints.

Position Criteria:

  • Highly effective in a matrixed and widely distributed workforce that requires visible leadership

  • Willingness to travel 50%

  • Broad understanding of marketing and business planning

  • Basic understanding of product applications and customer needs

  • Must leverage resources and relationships within the division, other Eaton Electrical business units, and customers to achieve country/region/division success.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Electrical industry, including products, services, systems, and solutions

  • Candidate needs to have a working knowledge of the overall marketing function, customer channels to market, and negotiation techniques and must be able to manage division, customer, and departmental resources to maximize growth opportunities

  • Developing and implementing growth plans and conducting competition/market analysis to drive product development efforts

  • Developing and executing tactical and strategic plans to support growth and profitability goals

  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and manage a fiscal entity

  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior corporate executives (both internal and external), as well as technical experts

  • Well-defined analytical skills are required with experience in creating and communicating strategic plans.

  • Ability to exhibit poise and presence to effectively manage customer relationships

The expected annual salary range for this role is $166878.0 - $244754.4 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
