SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS * * * *JOB TITLE: Dir Training REQUISITION: NUC00A0 DEPARTMENT: Training LOCATION: Wolf Creek – D.D. Eisenhower PAY RANGE: Min – 125,200 Mid – 166,900

POSITION SUMMARY: The position’s primary purpose is to achieve excellent station performance through training and performance consulting. This is accomplished by partnering with clients and peers to objectively analyze station needs and identify the best solutions to resolve performance problems. Success is measured by achieving plant performance goals and strategies.

*PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * • Meet or exceed all training requirements and standards as indicated by successful NRC inspections and INPO assessments, including accreditation renewal. • Provide site-wide training to employees that meets plant access, radworker, fitness-for-duty, and outage support in accordance with regulatory standards. • Maintain an NRC compliant, full scope, high fidelity simulator that accurately models plant operation under normal and transient conditions.
• Enforce the five phases of the systematic approach to training process at the site. • Advocate and be the Training Conscience for site. • Analyze whether proposed corrective actions for significant plant events are adequate as a member of the Corrective Action Review Board. • Provide a training perspective at routine plant meetings and committees. • Accomplish division goals within a multimillion-dollar budget. • Approve waivers for accredited training. • Coordinate with the Flint Hills Technology College to provide Wolf Creek a stream of highly qualified maintenance apprentice candidates. • Offset work force attrition by administering initial training programs at a pace to provide timely, highly capable replacement workers. • Utilize continuing training to address plant needs and improve worker/operator performance. • Comply with the NRC requirements associated with licensed operator training. • Provide the site varied learning delivery platforms, including classroom, lab, on-the-job, simulator, and online learning. • Participate annually as an INPO team member on an accreditation team visit at another site. • Maintain WCNOC employee training records in accordance with Quality standards. • Manage the division budget by performing activities such as: o Submitting requests for funding of division initiatives; o Authorizing expenditures at approved levels; o Monitoring budget performance and making spending decision based upon available funding and business needs; o Submitting requests for emergent funding as appropriate to satisfy unforeseen safety or production concerns. o Ensure that an adequate level of qualified staff is in place to support division responsibilities by performing the following: o Maintaining a list of approved positions; o Recruiting, interviewing and hiring qualified individuals to fill authorized division openings; o Implementing knowledge retention and succession planning strategies in accordance with the Workforce Planning team. o Implement performance management activities within the division such as: o Conducting quarterly performance plan reviews; o Conducting annual job performance appraisals; o Conducting salary administration within the guidelines of Human Resource policies. • Ensure that industrial safety policies are implemented with in the division. • Participate in INPO evaluations or assistance visits with other utilities. • Support the emergency response organization. • Support the refueling outage organization. • Perform other duties as assigned by executives. • The accreditation process has changed. The Training Director have deep understanding of the process and requirements for successful accreditation renewal and must help educate and teach other station leaders.” • Partner with other station leaders to own performance and drive improvement thru training and non-training solutions. Support and advocate for teaching & learning activities including use of lab and mockups.

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * • This position requires a BS degree, or equivalent experience, and eight years of power plant experience of which three years shall be nuclear power plant experience. An extensive training background or having been the line owner of an accredited training program is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTATIONS: • Hold or have held an SRO license or certification is preferred.

*VISION: * • This position requires the ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less, see clearly at 20 feet or more, adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus

*NOISE: * • This position requires the ability to work in a moderately noisy environment (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
