About the Med/Surg 1 West Unit:

We areseeking aregistered nursetojoin our teamat Pender Memorial Hospital’sMedSurg(1 West)unit. This unit offers a unique small, family atmosphere, fostering close-knit relationships among staff and patients alike. Nurses here not only gain familiarity with the entire hospital but also become integral members of the community they serve.As the unit evolves to accommodate a changing patient population, nurses can learn a wide array of skills and enjoy considerable independence and autonomy in their practice.Additionally, situated in a prime location for gaining valuable experience with trauma cases, itprovides an excellent opportunity for nursesto develop their skills in the Emergency Department setting.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • Associatesdegree in nursing 

  • Current North Carolina Nursing License or Multi-State/Compact 

  • Adaptability to accommodate a changing patient population.

  • Familiarity with hospital-wide operations and community integration.

  • One-year relevant experience, preferred

If your RN nursing license has been inactive,retiredor lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course isrequiredprior to reactivating or reinstating your license.Tobe considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assessing patients' conditions and health needs.

  • Developing and implementing nursing care plans.

  • Administering medications and treatments prescribed by physicians.

  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.

  • Educating patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care measures.

  • Advocating for patients' rights and coordinating their care within the healthcare system.
