The Walt Disney Company Senior Financial Analyst, Studio Finance in Burbank, California

The Sr. Financial Analyst will work within the Studio Finance team at the Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS). This is a critical role in collecting, summarizing and interpreting Studio financial data for the WDAS Leadership team. The Sr. Financial Analyst will work closely with the various teams across Disney Animation as well as the Studio Segment Finance and Controllership teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Studio Overhead consolidation process including COC analysis in the Budget, Forecast, Close, and Long Range Strategic planning cycles

  • Help drive the overall Forecast process, including analyzing the Studio P&L and Run Rate

  • Partner with the various WDAS Overhead departments to create fiscal year plans as well as provide strategic guidance

  • Partner with Studio Controllership and assist in the quarterly close process

  • Critically evaluate and communicate financial information and recommendations in a digestible format to present to department leaders and finance executives

  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives as well as document policies and procedures

  • Build models to help consolidate and analyze Studio trends as well as provide input and help drive ad hoc projects for the Studio

  • Collaborate with the Production Finance team to understand key production changes and how this could impact the Overhead departments

  • Potential opportunities to support project related work (e.g. marketing, short form)

  • Provide critical input and data analysis for Studio Resource Planning scenarios

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required (emphasis in Business, Finance or Accounting preferred)

  • CPA and/or MBA a plus

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues

  • Strong knowledge of Excel (including macros)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize ideas and issues to Studio management

  • Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader objectives

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects at the same time, while keeping supervisor properly informed

  • Ability to drive and implement process improvements across key activities

  • Ability to work well in teams, both within the group and also with other business units

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • SAP and Cognos experience is a plus

The hiring range for this position in CA is $92,742.00 – $124,410.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
