Position Overview
This position is responsible for accurately reconciling balance sheet accounts monthly. Assist in the support of accounting team employees in accounts payable and receivable. Support monthly close process to ensure timeliness and accuracy. Support fixed assets system in Sage Intacct to create additions, disposals and record depreciation/amortization each month.
This position is remote or hybrid depending on your proximity to an office location. Kansas City, KS; Buford, GA; Denver, CO; Melbourne, FL.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Support accounts payable and receivable employees
Support annual 1099 process ensuring all deadlines are met
Support preparations and filing of annual escheatment reports required for each state
Review draft payables information in the accounting system and approve posting
Prepare accounts payable checks, ACH or wire transactions weekly
Collaborate with vendors to convert all payments to ACH
Review credit applications for approval by the CFO
Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and clearing accounts
Identify and troubleshoot potential issues in accounting and make recommendations as needed
Support annual audit
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
Bachelor’s degree.
Three to five years general accounting experience
Intermediate computer and software literacy including all Microsoft Office products and accounting software (ERP) including QuickBooks and Sage Intacct
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
Thorough understanding of accounting processes
Strong customer service focus for both internal and external customers
Able to maintain confidentiality regarding company accounting practices and procedures, including vendor and customer information
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), business transactions, and internal control principles
Contruction or Telecom experience preferred, or similar industry
Willingness to work overtime when necessary to meet deadlines
Conduct all activities in a professional manner, ensuring good business relationships with vendors, customers, and employees.
Ability to travel for site visits or meetings
Physical Requirements
Primarily seated in an office location.
Some standing, stooping and lifting up to 15 pounds.
Full use of hands, arms, hearing, vision, and voice.
