M&T Bank Technical QA Engineer in Buffalo, New York

This role offers a hybrid work schedule; offering the flexibility to work from home two days a week, while providing the opportunity for in-person collaboration.

Overview:

Responsible for the management of all activities related to successful planning, documenting, and system testing within Workforce Identity Access Management and of all work performed by the Access Engineering & Development team, whether by the request of the client, internal department or the result of a problem related to an application. Provide detailed direction and perform specialized analysis and research of system testing to solve any scope problem or enhancement. Provide support and assistance to the Engineering Team Lead in managing and developing staff members, creating departmental reporting, and attending meetings when the Engineering Team Lead is not available.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead work on multiple projects with multiple groups of internal and external stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Business Owners, Development, Operations, and Technology staff to develop effective test strategies and plans.

• Communicate the test approach and construct/present test status to stakeholders.

• Work with cross functional teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.

• Participate in interviewing, hiring, training and employee appraisal processes.

• Assist in the development of and adherence to Quality Assurance best practices, standards and processes.

• Create test matrices and templates for large scale testing initiatives.

• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

• Complete other related duties as assigned.

• Perform afterhours assignments periodically and support an on-call rotation as necessary.

Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities:

May assign/coordinate work of a team of analysts in a team environment.

Education and Experience Required:

Minimum of an Associate’s degree and 3 years’ experience within software development, software testing, fraud prevention, compliance, or cybersecurity. In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ applicable experience.

Experience with various types of functional software testing techniques, including Unit, System Integration, User Acceptance, and Regression testing.

Experience with various types of nonfunctional software testing techniques, including Performance, Compatibility, and Load testing.

Familiarity with both white and black box testing.

Experience with implementing QA processes using industry standard heuristic models and methodology.

Ability to excel in a rapidly changing environment under aggressive timelines.

Excellent process/people/project management skills while managing multiple projects.

Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.

Self-motivated individual with the ability to persuade and motivate others.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Experience with Test Automation development

Experience with RST methodology

Strong experience with relational database programming

Familiarity with GAMP5 V-Model

Experience with PowerShell or Bash Shell

Good understanding of Identity Access Management (IAM)

Software testing certification

Familiarity with Agile software development framework

Familiarity with Project Management practices

Previous leadership experience"

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $93,581.10 - $155,968.51 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
