What will your day look like?

Some of the day-to-day responsibilities you will have include:

  • Conducting comprehensive patient pre-screening assessments and developing treatment plans that identify patients’ needs and strengths

  • Participating in weekly one-on-ones with your manager, as well as team meetings, to discuss case presentations

  • Coordinating and collaborating with other service providers and family members

  • Attending trainings via our new state-of-the-art learning management system where you will gain the necessary knowledge to be a successful counselor

  • CASAC or CASAC-T (Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor)

Locations:

Conveniently located on Elm Street in downtown Buffalo, Terrace House is a 68-bed facility offering stabilization and medically-supervised detox treatment. We provide twenty-four hour care to adult men and women who need support, counseling, observation, nursing and medical care to achieve initial stabilization from drug and/or alcohol withdrawal.

Position Hours:

This position is full-time, Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday with two evening shifts required.

Compensation:

Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The range of pay for this position is $49,842 - $61,120. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. There is also a 15% pay differential for weekend hours worked. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.

Physical demands associated with this position include:

  • Sitting for extended periods, alternating between standing and sitting

  • Mobility required between worksites and within facilities

  • Mobility required with repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements

  • Handling light duties, occasionally lifting objects up to 20 pounds

Residential Counselor Recruitment Bonus Program

Eligible Hires and Payment Structure:

  • Full Time Residential Counselor hires will receive $750 after 30 days of continuously working and another $750 after 6 months of continuously working for a total bonus of $1,500.

  • Part Time Residential Counselor hires will receive $375 after 30 days of continuously working and another $375 after 6 months of continuously working for a total bonus of $750.

  • Per Diem Residential Counselor hires will receive $200 after 30 days of continuously working and $175 after 6 months of continuously working for a total bonus of $375.
