Position Summary:

The University at Buffalo’s Department of Psychiatry (https://medicine.buffalo.edu/departments/psychiatry.html) is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to work as part of a team to help elucidate the genetic and transcriptomic underpinnings of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder in ancestrally diverse populations.

Specifically, the postdoc will:

  • perform various types of next generation sequencing analysis on whole-exome sequencing, whole-genome sequencing, RNA -Seq, ChIP-seq and other high-throughput data

  • be expected to work and learn independently as needed

  • oversee the work of students in the lab

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in bioinformatics, genetics, biomedical sciences, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in statistical genetics and/or bioinformatics.

  • Proficiency in R, Python, and/or SQL .
