Summary:
The position provides leadership and oversight of strategy, policy, design, quality improvement, and governance of Spiritual Care services across the ambulatory care footprint of Catholic Health/Physician Enterprise. Enhances and promotes spiritual care for ambulatory care patients, providers, and associates. Develops and implements spiritual care activities to ensure that spiritual care is fully integrated. Develops rituals and prayer services for events. Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Catholic Health Mission, Vision, and Values in leadership behaviors, practices, and decisions. Hires, leads, designs, defines priorities, evaluates, and improves spiritual care strategies, policies, and programming across the physician enterprise. Leads, designs, sets standards for and assesses competencies of the Spiritual Care staff and per-diem chaplains in collaboration with the VPs of Mission. Ensures that Spiritual Care standards and policies are executed across the physician enterprise.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
A master's degree in theology or related field
Certified (or eligible for certification) as a board-certified chaplain by either the National Association of Catholic Chaplains or the Association of Professional Chaplains
Ordained or commissioned by one's faith group or denomination. Denominational endorsement
EXPERIENCE
Five years' experience in tele-chaplaincy
Ten years of pastoral, supervisory, and administrative experience in pastoral/spiritual care in a church or institution
Experience working with multicultural and diverse religious backgrounds highly desirable
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Skills in crisis intervention

Ability to provide pastoral care and spiritual support in a high-stress environment
Organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills
Knowledge of regulatory requirements appropriate for the position
Skills in pastoral research and spiritual assessment
Ability to analyze data for performance improvement activities
Understands the importance of working as a team within and outside the department
Cooperative relationship with persons of varying faith traditions or of no tradition
Knowledge of and support for the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Facilities
Strong spiritual maturity

Strong written and verbal communication skills
