KSL Diagnostics is looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join our growing laboratory team. KSL is a small, specialized lab that performs laboratory testing across a wide range of diagnostic categories. The Laboratory Assistant will be involved in all aspects of pre-analytic procedures, including client support, laboratory sample accessioning, specimen handling, and general administrative tasks. Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm
Job Summary: Receive deliveries and perform accessioning of laboratory samples, including blood, bone marrow and tissues. Assist technicians in specimen processing. Perform general customer service and administrative tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities: Receives specimen deliveries from local and out-of-area clients. Responsible for specimen intake into the laboratory, including accurate data entry, sample labeling, and routing to the proper department. Assists the lab in specimen processing, including aliquoting, archiving, or preparing samples. Troubleshoots issues with laboratory staff or clients, as appropriate. Clerical work as assigned. Addresses phone calls and emails in a timely manner. Follows standard operating procedures, laboratory guidelines, and safety protocols. Other duties as assigned or business needs dictate.
Requirements: High school diploma required. Associates degree in a science or medical field preferred. Good communication skills. Ability to lift and sort packages up to 20 pounds. This position is not remote or hybrid.
