REPORTS TO: K-4 Building Principal
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt/10 month plus 10
*Salary is based on a Teacher Pay Scale- Bachelors, Masters, Bachelors + Certification, Masters + Certification, plus years of experience.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of the building principal, this position is responsible for assisting in the professional development of teachers at Tapestry Charter School, particularly in the area of mathematics curriculum, instruction and assessment. This includes working with teachers, leading professional development, running coaching cycles and using data to drive instruction in the area of mathematics. The Math Coach is critical in supporting the mission and values of Tapestry to educate and inspire a diverse community of learners by engaging them in rigorous real-world learning experiences which prioritize intellectual, social and emotional growth.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
K-4 Math Support Curriculum & Instruction
Revise and implement pacing calendars K-4
Co plan with grade level teams on a weekly basis or as needed. We use Engage NY Mathematics
Conduct walkthrough observations aligned to the work plan to look for consistencies and data driven instruction
Engage math teachers in ongoing coaching cycles that includes lesson planning, lesson observation, teacher debrief and reflection
K-4 Math Assessment
Use existing platforms to gather data and drive instruction
Use Kindergarten benchmarks as one piece of data to draft action plans
Use interims in grades 1-4 as one piece of data to draft action plans
Consistently use DIN's and Engage NY assessments to plan for independent and instructional learning opportunities
Work directly with the Testing Coordinator to implement NYS Mathematics Assessments and scoring for grades 3 & 4
MTSS
Consistently work with teachers and teaching partners to monitor data
Assist in implementation of tier II strategies to support learning challenges
Assist in observing students and creating math action plans for individual students that support the MTSS process
Attend weekly RtI meetings and support teachers in data and strategy use & implementation collaboration
Collaboration with coaches and site administrators
Participate in weekly meeting with coaches and monthly K-12 coaching meetings
Meet weekly with the K-4 principal to monitor work plan goals and alignment
Additional Duties
Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Tapestry Charter School mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior
Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Required Qualifications:
NYS Teacher Certification
3 years teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Dynamic classroom teacher looking to take the next step in supporting students & teachers
Prior experience with coaching and leadership opportunities
