Position Summary

The Digital Photography Technician compiles, organizes and maintains the digital assets created by both internal and external photography partners. Focusing on quality control, this position ensures all incoming and outgoing photographed and rendered images are accurate and delivered to requested specifications. Additionally, this role assists the photography team in all aspects of technical studio set-up and maintenance, occasional retouching and overall team support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Organize assets using company Digital Asset Management system (Widen)
  • Create digital images for use in E-Commerce
  • Compile, organize and maintain digital assets created by both internal and external photography partners
  • Log and catalog images and descriptions accurately
  • Recognize file types and convert accordingly to work within appropriate programs
  • Receive, organize and prepare product for photography
  • Work with Photographers to organize, crop, color correct, name and upload product photography to retouching partners
  • Download retouched and rendered images from FTP servers and upload images into New Era's digital asset management system
  • Regular DAM maintenance and upkeep
  • Maintain efficient workflow in the photo studio and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Communicate with third party vendors regarding capacity and workflow
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in both MAC and PC environments
  • Complete knowledge of the Adobe Creative suite with an emphasis on Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel
  • Must have a thorough understanding of studio photography and lighting concepts
  • Extraordinary technical and organizational skills
  • Not satisfied with mediocrity with a willingness to create positive change by constantly looking for ways to improve
  • Work well under tight deadlines with running changes in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with, or knowledge of, various professional photography programs such as Capture One preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Appreciation or interest in sports/lifestyle apparel preferred
  • While a portfolio is not required, we encourage you to include a link to your portfolio or samples of your work

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in photography/communications or related technical field preferred; additional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • One (1) to Three (3) years of experience with hands-on digital imaging/studio experience required

Travel Requirement

  • Negligible (0 - 5%)

The salary range for this posted position is $48,000 - $53,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
