The DuPont Tedlar® team is seeking an On-Site Automation and Process Control Engineer at our manufacturing facility located in Buffalo, NY .
The A&PC Engineer is responsible for managing overall area instrumentation, process control systems, and Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) to ensure business needs are met through the appropriate application of systems engineering and maintenance in a chemical manufacturing facility.
The A&PC engineer will work with a team of Technicians and Engineers to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the process control and automation systems in the plant. Continued technical and professional development is included in this position to ensure the facility remains up to date with A&PC technology.
Responsibilities:
Support DuPont Core Value initiatives including Safety, Environmental, Process Safety Management (PSM), Ethics, and Respectful Workplace.
Ensure that field devices, instrumentation systems, communication networks and interfaces are working properly.
Lead and support projects (cost and capital) involving the application of Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) and any other process control technologies.
Manage and improve the Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) to ensure compliance with corporate standards.
Implement both small and large projects affecting the control system.
Keep track of engineering changes and update necessary documents utilizing the Management of Change (MOC) process.
Provide bug fixes, enhancements, and upgrades to the control system – from the HMI to the controllers. Enhancements and upgrades include managing both software and firmware upgrades, as well as implementing new technology.
Assist run plant engineers, technical advisors, technicians, and operators in troubleshooting process upsets.
Participate in Root Cause Investigations (RCIs) for incidents and near misses.
Participate in cyclical Process Hazards Analysis (PHAs).
Maintain interface/logic between control system and MES.
Qualifications:
BS in Engineering required, Electrical Engineering discipline prefered.
3-7 years of chemical process manufacturing or related experience.

Intellectual curiosity - Proactively investing time and energy into learning more and personally developing, in the interest of improving yourself and delivering better results.
Previousexpertise and understanding of distributed control system (DCS) architecture and demonstrated skills in configuring, documenting, and troubleshooting of Rockwell PLC and DCS systems.
Fundamental understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
Knowledge and experience related to safety instrumented systems (SIS).
Understanding of Risk assessment principles.
Experience with Rockwell CLX, ABB, Siemens PCS7 preferred.
Experience with Aspen Tech IP21 historian.

The Pay range for this role is $123,480.00 - $194,040.00 Annual
