EMPLOYER: Twin Pine Farms LLP JOB TITLE: Farrowing Technician JOB LOCATION: 66862 230th St., Buffalo Lake, MN 55314 JOB DUTIES: Responsible for assisting with all daily aspects of swine farrowing and animal care. Specific duties include: (1) Ensuring highest standards of ethical animal treatment; (2) Assisting Barn Manager with preparation of pre-farrow rooms; (3) Executing proper farrowing of sows and day one pig care (including ensuring adequate food, heat, and milk); (4) Performing inducing of sows and assisting with complicated births; (5) Assisting Barn Manager in ensuring that piglets are in the correct sow and still, and transferring and sizing piglets as directed; (6) Keeping stalls full of lactating sows; (7) Processing and castrating piglets; (8) Feeding lactating sows; (9) Ensuring sow health and nutrition; (10) Assisting Barn Manager with recordkeeping; (11) Ensuring a proper animal environment including ventilation, water, feed, and animal husbandry; (12) Ensuring compliance with biosecurity measures, including assisting with power washing.
