About The Role

Summary The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for underwriting commercial loan requests. The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for preparing a credit memorandum documenting strengths and weaknesses of a commercial credit request in conjunction with the commercial loan officer and support their recommendations via a thorough and thoughtful financial analysis. The Senior Credit Analyst is expected to underwrite all loan requests in compliance with the bank's policies and procedures.

The Senior Credit Analyst is expected to have the knowledge and ability to train other Credit Analysts on the bank's policies and procedures. The compensation pay range for this position is $77,000 to $88,000 per year. All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Underwrites commercial loan requests including, but not limited to, real estate, construction, commercial and industrial, and SBA loans. Prepares financial statement analysis and analyzes related materials including accounts receivable and payable agings, information from credit bureaus, and industry related websites. Understands and applies the bank's policies and procedures and underwrites all loan requests in compliance with them. Assists commercial Loan Officer in preparing loan presentation for review by the Chief Credit Officer and/or Loan Committees. Joins Loan Officer in meetings with existing and prospective bank customers. Performs job functions in compliance with all company policies, federal and state rules and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to, BSA/AML, OFAC, and GLBA/privacy rules. Trains and mentors other Credit Analysts; acts as a knowledge resource for team members and peers. Leads or assists with projects that consist primarily of credit administration issues. Support the communities the Bank services through volunteer opportunities Other duties as assigned.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS: Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or economics and/or three to five years of commercial credit analysis experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY: Able to evaluate the sustainability and risk of a loan request through the thoughtful analysis of business and personal financials. Thorough understanding of residential and commercial appraisals. Tech savvy, with a good familiarity with underwriting software and Microsoft Word and Excel; nCino experience is a plus. Able to apply logical or critical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions and explain their thought process to others in a concise manner. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with others in a clear, thorough and timely manner. Ability to produce work within directed timeframe without compromising integrity or quality of work. Able to manage several tasks/projects simultaneously and effectively; self-starter who maintains a high level of productivity with limited direction. Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others; work to develop and maintain cooperative and positive working relationships; represent the Bank in a positive manner and maintain credibility with others. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding any information obtained during the course of performing job duties; adhere to Bank policies and procedures regarding confidentiality

ATTENDANCE: Regular and predictable attendance in order to accomplish, among other things, in-person contact with customers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work performed in an office environment. Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
