If you love Human Resources and you're looking for an exciting, new Benefits and Leave role, Robert Half has the opportunity for you as a Human Resources Benefits and Leave Administrator. This is a contract to hire position with a great organization!

Major responsibilities

  • Consults with, and advises Team Members on eligibility, provisions, and other matters related to benefits.

  • Presents benefit overviews to new hires during New Hire Orientation.

  • Helps Team Members with claim resolution by guiding and educating the team member on the process. Works with insurance carriers as needed.

  • Works with insurance representatives to resolve issues and problems.

  • Reconciles invoices for payment to insurance carriers.

  • Administers leaves of absence, working with the employee and ensuring compliance with the Family Medical Leave Act, CFRA and PDL.

  • Administers Military leaves ensuring eligibility and tracking the leave.

  • Responsible for notification processes of Team Members’ leaves and exhaustions of leave.

  • Handles benefit calculation for leaves of absence.

  • Provides information relating to disability verifications to the disability carrier and EDD.

  • Maintains Team Members’ medical files by scanning all documents to permanent storage.

  • Provides notices to Team Members regarding changes and deadlines for all benefit related programs.

  • Works with Directors and Managers to ensure benefit information is communicated to Team Members.

  • Develops and executes benefit and wellness related team member communications as directed.

  • Assists in the planning and promotion of Flu Shot Clinics, Open Enrollment, and other benefit program events.

  • Strategizes, develops and leads various wellness programs activities under the direction of the Benefits Manager.

  • Develops policies and procedures for wellness program initiatives.

  • Performs data entry in WFN, Benetrac, Conexis and insurance company employer portal.

  • Oversees Benefits Specialist and benefit programs in the absence of the Benefits Manager.

  • Performs other duties as directed.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; and/or equivalent work experience in Human Resources.

  • Two years of experience in benefits administration.

  • Experience administering leaves of absence required.

  • Experience working with benefit carrier, brokers, and claims required.

  • Knowledge of applicable human resources law, regulations, rules, procedures, and administration including the ACA, FMLA, CFRA, PFL, and state disability.

  • Strong proficiency in computers, including Microsoft Office applications, e-mail and internet.

  • Solid Excel skills.

  • Bilingual preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience and tact.

  • Exceptional detail and follow-up skills.

  • Able to effectively establish priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Able to work early mornings and evenings for special projects such as open enrollment.

  • Multi-task oriented.
