Job Title: Fine Fragrance Laboratory Technician

Job Description

This role of a laboratory technician is to assist in the completion of profiles and support perfumers in preparing fragrance compounds in alcohol and/or other applications.

Responsibilities

  • Practice with extreme accuracy test methods and perform the appropriate laboratory evaluations to ensure stability, efficacy, and quality of developed products.

  • Understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Function as a perfumer’s technician (compounding formulas) and as an application technician (preparing client application and sample requests).

  • Multitask, problem solve, and meet project deadlines for optimal results.

  • Work cohesively in a collaborative lab environment promoting teamwork and/or work independently.

  • Maintain a neat and organized work area.

  • Maintain materials and bases for stock along with perfumers' collection.

  • Prepare product samples to be forwarded to clients or to Perfumery, Marketing, Evaluation, Sensory, or for proactive projects.

  • Work directly with Perfumers in maintaining consistent workflow and following/anticipating daily priorities.

  • Compound formulas for both perfumers and application sample requests.

  • Maintain a continuous supply of raw materials needed for the manufacturing of products.

  • Prepare reports and samples that lead to the timely completion of profiles.

  • Prepare application lab demos of ancillary products.

  • Maintain a neat and organized laboratory notebook to demonstrate sample preparation and other tasks.

  • Work following proper safety protocols.

  • Understand and execute all necessary requirements for ISO 9001.

  • Remain accountable for all defined responsibilities as defined by ISO 9001 process flows.

Essential Skills

  • Quality control experience in fragrance or related field.

  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and meet project deadlines.

  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

  • Ability to maintain a neat and organized work area.

  • Experience with compounding formulas and preparing client application and sample requests.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • College credits offset by work experience.

  • Bachelor of Science or a related scientific field is preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00
