Team/Role Overview

The Business Architecture Risk & Control (R&C) team is a Global team that drives the delivery of robust and consistent design, monitoring, and governance of the control framework across Business Architecture with responsibility for risk management activities including Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA), Audit Engagement, Issue Management, Trainings, and Communication. Through close collaboration, the team enables the Business Architecture organization to execute on their business strategy while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.

The Business Architecture Risk & Control team is led by Enterprise Services Risk & Control Head reporting into Head of Technology Controls. The Business Architecture R&C team resources are subject matter specialists who act as the first line of defense providing risk management support to Business Architecture who are responsible for strengthening Citi’s Processes through the Citi Enterprise Architecture Methodology (CEAM), supporting the automation of Citi’s control environment, and leading the firm to ensure that disruptions are minimized making Citi simpler, stronger, and more resilient. Simplification is achieved through the linkages to Processes, overseen by Process Owners and adoption by Programs such as End User Computer (EUC), Data, and Manager Control Assessment (MCA).

The Business Risk and Control Officer serves as a trusted advisor who promotes and assists in embedding strong internal controls, drives governance to ensure adherence to policies and standards, and delivers timely, accurate and insightful control analytics to ensure effective risk mitigation to their assigned portfolio within Business Architecture.

What you'll do

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders in the delivery of risk management activities.

  • Contribute to governance and the facilitation of the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA, i.e. Risk & Control Self-Assessment) as required by the MCA Standard including the assessment and appropriate approval of risk associated with business changes.

  • Support teams in the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy, and Control Inventory.

  • Be part of the process to identify, assess, record and response to Operational and Compliance Risk events, ensuring these are captured accurately, timely and in accordance with requirements.

  • Apply knowledge of the business, products, or services to identify and implement control points and processes throughout the business.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.​

What we’ll need from you

  • 6-10 years of experience.

  • MS Excel, MS Access, SAS, SQL, Visual Basic a plus. 5+ years’ experience in financial services.

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

  • Effective organizational influencing skills required.

  • Third party vendor management preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead global team efforts.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to comprehend the big pictures with high attention to critical details.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.
