Atlas Group is currently hiring a Gas Pipeline Distribution Directional Drill Operator/ Locator to work in WV. Operators/ Locators will have experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of utilities, along with familiarity of excavating around live utilities. The role requires physical capability to identify and solve potential problems, enforcing company policies and safety procedures, and interacting with customers, and the team. The Operator/ Locator must ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations for the crew and the public. Main Responsibilities: Help Guide the crew towards goal achievement. Plan, and organize daily work. Identify potential problems; develop and implement solutions. Enforce Company policies and standard work procedures. Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations. Troubleshoot and repair minor equipment problems. Ensure preventive maintenance of equipment is completed. Interact with customers to explain work procedures necessary at the worksite/residence. Handle minor customer complaints and inquiries. Escalate issues to the superintendent or general foreman if necessary. Complete project paperwork as required by the customer. Perform drilling/ locating activities as required. Perform excavation activities as required. Flexibility to work overtime as needed. Successfully pass customer-required computer-based testing (Operator Qualification courses). Assist others as needed during idle periods or when your primary tasks are completed. Work Schedule: Typically, Monday to Friday with 10-12 hour workdays (Weather Dependent). Occasional work on Saturdays may be required. Occasional travel is required; we prioritize staying as close to 'Home' as possible, but flexibility is essential as we must go where the work is No work on Sundays. No work on most calendared holidays. Benefits for Equipment Operator Position: Competitive pay ranging from $18 to $27+ per hour. Hotels paid during work-related travel. $35 per night per diem when lodging Required Qualifications: 1+ years underground utility construction experience. 1+ years of verifiable directional drill/ locating experience. 1+ years of verifiable excavator experience. High level of personal integrity and accountability. CDL A or b. High school diploma or equivalent. Must pass computer-based testing, specific to the local Customers operator qualific tion. Experience with vacuum equipment/ hydro excavation. Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of utility gas construction experience. 2+ years of verifiable directional drill operator/ locator experience. 2+ years of verifiable excavator experience. Ditch Witch/ Subsite experience Verifiable all terrain rock experience Understanding of drilling fluids, and mixing/ reclaiming systems. Class A CDL Relevant certifications in plumbing, gas fitting, or fusion.
