The Microsoft Commercial Experience (MCE) organization within C+E manages customers‘ billing lifecycle by providing services and experiences: customer signup and choice of payment, creating subscriptions, charging customers, and showing their invoice in the Azure portal.

As a Software engineer in MCE you will work on a team that is driven by passion and innovation to deliver services and experiences. You will have the incredible opportunity to work on business-critical initiatives that directly contribute to the growth in adoption of Microsoft Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high quality secure and compliant solutions

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to build new features

  • Design, develop, test, use and support features, experiences and solutions primarily in C#, PowerShell and Azure technologies (AKS, KV, CosmosDB)

  • Support highly available services used by millions of users on a daily basis

  • Work with support to triage and debug technical support requests

  • Analyze how your features are performing in production to learn and make the product better

  • Maintains operations of live service as issues arise on a rotational, on-call basis. Identifies solutions and mitigations to simple issues and complex issues when applicable impacting performance or functionality of Live Site services and escalates as necessary.

  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions. Alerts stakeholders as to the status and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems. Responds within Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeframe. Escalates issues to appropriate owners.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

o OR equivalent experience.

  • Good knowledge on DevOps platforms (Azure/AWS or other cloud platforms)

  • Knowledgeable in software maintenance best practices and tools

  • Experienced in software production support and troubleshooting

  • Excellent collaboration skills and critical thinking

  • Good communication skills both verbal and written

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

o OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

o OR equivalent experience.
