BorgWarner Inc. Internship – Charging System Operation and Tech Support-1 in Bucharest, Romania
This internship position is part of the Charging System Operation and Technical Support team, which is responsible to manage, maintain, and operate BorgWarner’s cloud-based infrastructure used to provide state-of-the-art service and assistance to the customers buying our chargers.
From this position, the intern in this role contribute to the activities of remotely operating and supporting BorgWarner’s in-field charging devices, by utilizing complex ecosystem of services and tools, helping to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
This position comes with the great opportunity to start learning about eMobility industry, chargers (the standalone devices and how they are controlled from the cloud), EVs, and the whole growing charging ecosystem.
Key responsibilities
This intern will learn about and help with the following areas of charging operations:
Operate and manage (as able) the deployed charging-related cloud-based systems (OCPP Proxy / Backend) and other supporting systems,
Provide online technical assistance to facilitate on-site technical intervention, and ultimately to ensure high customer satisfaction rate.
Monitor the in-field chargers using the Charging Cloud System, with the purpose to notify corresponding stakeholders to act on special situations.
Assist the Embedded Product Development Team with the testing of chargers' hardware and firmware, as part the OCPP-based integration between the chargers and the Charging Cloud System.
Operate and manage (as able) the online Service Management System that allows customer to report issues and obtain solutions for them.
Monitor the Service Management System to ensure rapid and efficient response to the demands from customers and partners.
Perform triage, processing, and prioritization of customer issues, in accordance with the defined internal processes.
What we’re looking for
Nice-to-have Background
- Final/pre-final year of study in IT, SW engineering, or related technical field.
Required Skills
Basic understanding of client-server model, common Internet communication protocols, and cloud computing.
Enthusiasm and willingness to learn interesting things, analytical and problem-solving mindset, attention to details and priorities.
Team spirit, reliability, and discipline in executing tasks.
Very good verbal and written communication in English.
Preferred skills
Knowledge about, and eventually prior usage experience of Microsoft Office tools and Atlassian Jira (especially Jira Service Management module) and Confluence.
Knowledge of a common scripting language (e.g. Python) used for the task automation.
