Catholic Health Initiatives Supervisor EMS Dispatch in Bryan, Texas
Overview
Dispatches ambulances on a priority basis to emergency, non-emergency and routine medical transports. Receives requests for services via radio or telephone and utilizes documentation devices accordingly. Supervises the daily operations of the dispatch center along with providing new hire and continuing training. Works with the department director in the development of dispatch protocols and interacts with hospital staff, public and other agencies.

Responsibilities
Oversees the communication department for daily operations, and assisting will equipment, and SOP issues.
Manages/Oversees staff scheduling and payroll
Assures proper utilization of vehicular resources to assure prompt completion of requests for services - Pleasant and courteous to all individuals contacted. Appropriate communications with all staff. Positive public image.
Equipment Operations and Maintenance - Checks all equipment at beginning of shift to assure readiness, including cleaning as necessary or required. Reports deficiencies in equipment as noticed and turns equipment over to relief in appropriate conditions. Repairs equipment within scope of abilities. Assures familiarity with equipment for safe operation.
Computer/Data Entry- Receives and enters call and patient information into the database. Accounts for all calls run during shift. Maintains proficiency in computer systems required during duty. Checks MediTech and other information devices routinely during each shift of duty.
Proper utilization of radio and telephone equipment - Courteous and professional. Proper modulation. Promptly and properly pages staff. Routes phone calls to proper location, or takes accurate messages.
Provision of Services - Treats all patients/callers compassionately and with reverence, regardless of medical complaint, or lack thereof, or any other presenting socioeconomic conditions. Assists others when possible. Immediately responds to requests for services. Utilizes appropriate map reading skills.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Required Licensure and Certifications
Valid Texas Driver’s License.
American Heart Associatetion BLS.
Completes BLS within 14 days of employment
NAEMD (National Association of Emergency Medical Dispatch) Certification.
Receives certification for EMD course within 6 months of employment.
Pay Range
$20.62 - $28.35 /hour
