  • Lead and provide daily support to the production team

  • Schedule and assign work, assess completed work

  • Coordinate technician assignments to keep production workflow progressing efficiently

  • Read, interpret and work from free form drawings as well as from controlled documentation and processes

  • Make critical decisions on the fly in a fast paced environment that allows for the most efficient use of time and resources

  • Look ahead and plan for upcoming operations and decide on the best course of action

  • Facilitate corrections to issues within the production process and/or involving personnel; initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between shifts

  • Lead training initiatives/programs

  • Maintain department’s tooling and consumable supply inventory


  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate

  • 5+ years experience as a technician working on vehicle integration


  • Experience bringing teams and processes from development to production desirable

  • Prior leadership experience including leading teams, projects, or people

  • A demonstrated ability in reading and understanding technical drawings, manuals, and reports

  • 5+ years experience as a technician in a mechanical capacity

  • Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity

  • Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)

  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment


  • Must be willing to work any shift, as well as overtime as needed

  • Ability to work at elevated heights

  • Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying moderately heavy materials or equipment (15-25 lbs)

  • Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments - heat, cold, rain

  • Work occasionally performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise

  • May be necessary to travel occasionally to other SpaceX locations

  • Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
