Eaton Corporation Solutions Design & Proposal/Bid Manager in Brossard, Canada

Eaton’s Energy Automation Solutions division is currently seeking a Solutions Design and Bid Manager for its global markets. This position will be located in our Brossard, Québec office and offers hybrid work opportunities. Candidates should reside within 80km of Brossard. The EAS Solutions team’s mission is to pioneer the introduction of disruptive solutions in the electrical utility segment by relentlessly identifying and addressing industry pain points and help utility customer address the energy transition challenges. You will be part of a team of market experts who thrive on market-driven innovation, creating new offerings and value propositions that accelerate growth globally.

In this role, you will manage the end-to-end proposal process (content creation, proposal collaterals, pricing, quotations) that drives the integration of solutions into commercial offerings. Your oversight will deliver high-quality technical and commercial responses on time through the creation of documented solution offering workflows/best practices that are centralized and automated while influencing stakeholders to champion a digital mindset and adoption of modernized tools. You will also have the opportunity to solve complex, challenging technical issues and collaborate with diverse teams to create solutions that generate new streams of revenue. What you’ll do:

As a Bid Manager in this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the governance and strategic aspects of bid management. Your key responsibilities include:

1. Cross-Functional Team Management:

o Lead cross-functional teams (including marketing, sales, engineering, legal, finance, and services) to deliver high-quality technical and commercial responses within specified timelines.

2. Value Proposition and Messaging:

o Collaborate with various teams to craft persuasive messages based on thorough research.

o Document winning value propositions and technical arguments.

o Coordinate content creation and proposal collateral development with subject matter experts, marketing managers, and agile development teams.

3. Process Management:

o Manage end-to-end processes for Response for a Proposal (RFP), Response for a Quote (RFQ), and Response for Information (RFI).

o Ensure compliance with established strategies and plans.

o Coordinate pricing and quotation activities with product managers, internal sales, and senior management.

4. Workflow Design and Automation:

o Design efficient proposal pursuit workflows.

o Centralize and automate bid management and quotation processes for all offerings (hardware, software, services, and developments).

5. Proposal Review and KPI Tracking:

o Review incoming requests for proposals from both external and internal sources.

o Track key performance indicators (KPIs) using digital tools to oversee proposal logging, tracing, and archiving.

6. Process Optimization:

o Streamline and automate processes to enhance speed, accuracy, and usability of collaterals.

7. Digital Mindset Advocacy:

o Foster a digital mindset among sales professionals, encouraging the use of digital tools for creating quotes.

8. Vendor Relationship Management:

o Work closely with channel and ecosystem partners.

o Oversee third-party pricing within proposals.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum five (5) years of previous experience working in a global business, project management, software development, and sales/marketing environment.

  • Experience with proposals for complex solutions (systems, services, turnkey project) in a regulated environment like public infrastructure

  • Experience with bidding complex solutions that require customization to meet customer requirements.

  • Fluency in English and French (working proficiency). Fluency in French and English is required for this position to communicate with colleagues, customers, and partners located inside and outside of Quebec, as well as to understand technical documentation in the field of our industry.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Candidates must live within 80 kilometers of Brossard, Québec.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with operations, information technology, and buying processes ideally in the electrical utilities or industrial automation domain.

  • Experience with Salesforce and other digital platforms

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

  • Previous working in a global business and a digital solutions development environment with agile methodology experience
