Actalent Civil Engineer in Broomfield, Colorado
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team. As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining various civil engineering projects. Responsibilities
Performing civil engineering work in water, wastewater treatment, stormwater, and conveyance infrastructure, focused on site design project components including site layout, yard piping, roadways, paving and grading, and stormwater infrastructure
Conceptual and preliminary design activities including site visits, overseeing fieldwork, alternatives analysis, and report preparation
Hydraulic calculations and/or modeling
Permitting and alternative analysis
Assist with coordinating sub-consultant work
Preparation of technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables
Review contractor submittals for conformance with contract plans and specifications and evaluate requests for information as part of engineering services during construction
Provide engineering services during construction
Participate in field activities and site reconnaissance
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field
Registration as an Engineer-in-Training
4-8 years of directly-relevant experience in civil/site development
Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop engineering drawings
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to apply critical thinking to develop options and recommendations to solve technical problems
Ability to develop working drawings for civil site plans (layout, piping, grading, drainage, and paving) from sketches (determines scales, layout, and need for specific detail)
Experience with the planning and design of facility layout and site design projects
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
Registration as a Professional Engineer
Experience with Geographical Information System (GIS) and/or hydraulic modeling software a plus
