Hernando County Sheriff's Office School Crossing Guard (P/T) in Brooksville, Florida
Under the direct supervision of the assigned traffic sergeant, provides supervision of pedestrian control at a specific location to provide for the reasonable and orderly flow of pedestrian traffic and for the safety of the general public.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION**S
Directs pedestrians at the assigned street or highway location and provides for a smooth traffic flow.
Reports violations of traffic laws. Promotes positive public relations between the Office and the community. Reports to duty at the designated times. (Times may vary according to location.) Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Employer performs a full background check, along with a physical and drug screen prior to employment. Applicants will also have a CVSA (Computerized Voice Stress Analysis) administered.
Training and Experience
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent or a demonstrated level of competence in work performance which is determined by the Agency to be acceptable during a period of employment not to exceed the designated probationary period.
Essential Physical Skills
Able to communicate verbally Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction) Acceptable hearing (with or without correction) Standing for long periods of time Exhibit quickness of motion to provide directions
