New York University Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Construction Automation in Brooklyn, New York

The Department of Civil and Urban Engineering (https://engineering.nyu.edu/academics/departments/civil-and-urban-engineering) at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, to start on Fall 2024.

The Department of Civil and Urban Engineering at New York University has leveraged its long-standing relationships with industry partners and professionals to support its undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and build a strong research program focused currently on construction informatics and automation. We are particularly interested in individuals whose research will complement and enhance our current research focus – such that the whole will be greater than the sum of its parts, and who will contribute to our educational mission.

We are looking to hire in all areas of construction automation. Particular interest will be in candidates who work at the frontier of their field toward enhancing the design, construction, delivery, and operation of infrastructure systems and the built environment through Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Twins, Sensing, Informatics, Human-technology Collaboration, Safety and Ergonomics, Computational Design, Digital Fabrication, Sustainable and Green Technologies in Construction, and Cyber-Physical Systems.

You should have a Ph.D. degree in civil, architectural, construction engineering, or a closely related discipline. We seek individuals who have the potential to develop a strong record of scholarship, leadership, curricular innovation, entrepreneurship, and an excellent funding record. You should demonstrate potential for excellence in research, teaching and mentoring.

You should have the ability to teach in support of both the undergraduate and graduate curricula. Applicants should clearly articulate how they will develop a robust, externally-funded research program, their work will achieve synergy with existing construction faculty research areas, and they will create opportunities with existing centers of research at NYU (e.g., C2SMART (https://c2smart.engineering.nyu.edu/) , CUSP (https://cusp.nyu.edu/) , Robotics (https://engineering.nyu.edu/academics/robotics) , etc.).
