TITLE: Staff Software Engineer IJOB DUTIES: Build impactful user-facing features on Etsy's highly-rated Android app in Java and Kotlin. Communicate technical issues with all key technical and non-technical collaborators. Lead and implement any needed testing (unit, integration, functional, etc.). Utilize modern mobile development technology in a collaborative setting. Guide junior engineers in their technical and architectural decisions, using thoughtful code reviews, mentoring, and project planning discussions. Work on sophisticated and exciting debugging challenges. Review experimental results and provide suggestions for iterations or alternatives. Remote position.REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer science, Intelligent Information Systems, or related field and 4 years of experience as a Staff Software Engineer I, Senior Software Engineer, Android Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, Software Engineering Intern, Software Engineer, or related occupation. Requires 4 years of experience in/with building user-facing native applications for Android OS; Building native Android apps in Java; Working on a cross functional team with iOS, Android and API engineers; and Building features using A/B experimentation to validate findings. Requires 3 years of experience in/with: Building native Android apps in Kotlin; Building Android push notification infrastructure and features to notify app users of important updates or changes; and Mentoring junior engineers, including validating architectural decisions, code review, and growth advice. Requires 2 years of experience in/with: Building, debugging and testing data analysis pipelines via Scala and SQL.
