Position Summary:

The Prose team is looking for a Social Media Content Creator who sits within our Organic Social Media Team. The Prose Social Media Content Creator is responsible for creating on-brand social media content, while staying on top of trending topics. In addition, this role will help to execute and manage bimonthly social media photoshoots. By using thoughtful content strategies, this role will help elevate the look and feel of Prose social content while also increasing content posting frequency.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 annually (+10% discretionary bonus). Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills. This role will be a hybrid position based out of our Williamsburg office and the expectation is that this person will be in the office 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Capture

+ + Capture and create compelling social media content, including, images, videos, long-form videos, text, and graphics, to engage our audience and align with our brand voice

  • Publish and distribute content that includes (but not limited to) social posts, stories, videos, animated gifs, long format videos, etc.

  • Produce and shoot engaging social media content that ladders up to overarching social media strategy

  • Collaborate with in-house creative team on content capture for larger scale launches and special projects to ensure a cohesive look across channels

  • Script, produce and edit ongoing videos for organic content distribution

Trend tracking and Content Ideation

+ + Stay up-to-date on the latest trends, best-in-class practices, platform rules, and competitor activity across all platforms

  • Research, develop, and conceptualize content across our social channels that that aligns with our creative direction and supports the overall brand vision

  • Utilize social listening and trend tracking tools (such as Spate, Meltwater, etc.) to report on social media trends and integrate trends into content

  • Ideate and present ideas that push our social boundaries

Social Media Photoshoot Coordination

+ + Handle pre-production activities such as scripting, location scouting, casting, and securing necessary equipment and resources

  • Manage all aspects of filming, lighting, sound recording, and directing talent for small scale projects like TikToks and large scale projects like shoots with an eye for detail

  • Ensure final product meets Prose quality and standards

    Key Candidate Requirements:

  • 2-3+ years experience in a social media content role OR creative content role for a brand or agency

  • Strong knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Youtube

  • Must be comfortable in front of and speaking to the camera

  • Has a strong portfolio of past branded social media content

  • Familiar with post-production content creation such as video editing, color grading, sound design, and adding special effects on iPhone apps and Adobe Premiere

  • Has a finger on the pulse of pop culture trends, and current events

  • Strong creative writing skills with the ability to write both brand concepts and silly memes

  • Must have knowledge of internet lingo

  • Is a TikTok expert - someone who knows the app inside and out

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Knowledge of the beauty/haircare industry, or has worked in the haircare industry prior is a plus

  • Experience working with influencers is a plus
