POSITION DETAILS

New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn offering 58 associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for the Director of Admissions and Recruitment.

Reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, the Director of Admissions and Recruitment will provide leadership and oversight of all admissions and recruitment functions, ensuring City Tech attracts and enrolls a diverse and talented student population. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Director of Admissions and Recruitment will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan to attract a diverse pool of prospective students congruent with the College’s mission and enrollment targets.

  • Manage the admissions and recruitment team of approximately 15+ staff members, provide ongoing trainings and professional development.

  • Employ strategic and data-informed admission selection for incoming students.

  • Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement in recruitment and admissions strategies.

  • Oversee all admissions operational activity to ensure efficiency, ethical practices, and transparent processes.

  • Utilize modern technologies, maintaining operations as efficiently as possible.

  • Oversee the strategic implementation of recruitment initiatives, including digital marketing, communication plans, print materials, on-campus experiences, such as tours and open houses and off-campus events to cultivate interest and relationships with prospective students.

  • Collaborate with academic departments to ensure alignment between recruitment efforts and degree program offerings.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders including high school guidance counselors, principals, community college transfer offices, and non-profit leaders, to maximize City Tech’s presence in all markets.

  • Collaborate with all other enrollment services offices to ensure a smooth transition for all incoming students.

  • Coordinate the strategic selection process for scholarships specific to new/incoming students with the director of Financial Aid.

  • Work collaboratively with the AVP for Enrollment Management and other key stakeholders throughout the College to implement a strategic enrollment plan to meet institutional goals and priorities. This will include advising on expansion into new regions based on market research and trends.

The ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, is expected.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate current admission market trends to guide recruitment strategies and admissions planning

  • Proficiency in using standard higher education industry admissions and recruitment systems and tools, including CRM, web-based, and online applications to perform market analyses

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, allowing for effective, collaborative, and cooperative working relationships with a diverse community of learners, students, faculty, staff and external constituencies in a large centralized public university system

  • Experience in admissions and recruitment in a public institution, as well as expertise in the applications of modern higher education management systems

  • Excellent writing, editing, organizational, and presentation skills

  • Manages overall recruitment and admissions processes

  • Develops recruiting strategies for the College and/or specific programs or groups and works closely with academic departments, programs, and administrators to coordinate marketing and recruiting

  • Manages the development and distribution of recruiting materials and communications of all kinds

  • Manages admissions operations and staff, including coordination with outside organizations and University administration

  • Oversees department budget including developing detailed proposals to support recruitment and admissions

  • Evaluates and reports outcomes; uses information in statistical, fiscal, and other reports to make improvements to the recruiting process

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$115,333-$141,858. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
