JPMorgan Chase Control Manager in Brooklyn, New York

The CIB Regulatory Commitments Team (RCT) is part of the wider Finance and Business Management organization and specifically CIB Central Controls Office.

The Team is the unique provider of horizontal regulatory oversight and governance for the CIB and is responsible for providing increased transparency and greater senior oversight of the regulatory interactions, issues, commitments, and non-exam commitments program that require delivery and execution within Controls, Business Lines or Operations.

The Team provides analysis, guidance, and strategic thought leadership on regulatory processes. The Team also ensures appropriate plans and resources for delivery as well as operational readiness are in place for regulatory issues and provides credible challenge prior to closure.

Other key deliverables include identifying themes and regulatory trends that should be proactively addressed across the CIB, as well as prioritization and harmonization of all regulatory commitments.

Specifically, the group has multiple responsibilities including:

  • Thought leadership, analysis and impact assessment of emerging regulatory trends and issues on the CIB

  • Track upcoming and in progress regulatory interactions

  • Provide transparency to senior CIB Management of the regulatory landscape to ensure decision making can happen in a timely manner and enable the business to be proactive for future regulatory engagements

  • Ensure full CIB engagement in Exams impacting CIB, Management Responses, and regulatory finding management

  • Manage CIB Regulatory Keys process (senior management internal review & sign-off process for regulatory issue closure)

Job Description

The role is part of the Global Regulatory Commitments Team and supports the North America & LATAM team lead, and wider global Regulatory Commitments Team, with deliverables encompassing two main categories of responsibilities:

  • Tracking upcoming and in progress regulatory interactions,

  • Managing end-to-end regulatory findings, including:

  • Issue entry, tracking and management,

  • Assisting with Management Responses and the Keys process,

  • Assisting in summarizing analysis and themes for senior management visibility

Detailed responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with global RCT team members to maintain an up-to-date global tracker of CIB regulatory commitments (exam findings and non-exam commitments) and regulatory engagements

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with NAMR & LATAM Compliance, Control Management and Business stakeholders

  • Provide written and verbal communications, driving management awareness of current regulatory initiatives / exams and areas of concern

  • Assist in tracking significant NAMR & LATAM regulatory responses and updates, ensuring right engagement and awareness across the necessary CIB teams

  • Provide advisory support to Control Managers for correct capture of regulatory findings into CORE

  • Provide context and details for significant issues for Firmwide governance reporting

  • Work in conjunction with global RCT team to identify and communicate themes / areas of future focus

  • Develop ad hoc analysis, presentations and projects as needed

Qualifications :

  • Strong partnership and presence - ability to interact with multiple stakeholders and influence senior Firmwide and Business partners

  • Comfortable to work in a fast paced global environment

  • Strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

  • Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills

  • Able to sift through and organize multiple data points

  • Ability to link various pieces of information together

  • Ability to understand complex processes or concepts, and break these down into their constituent parts

  • Ability to think critically

  • Displays professional skepticism and comfortable to challenge and ask questions when grey areas arise

  • Takes pride in deliverables and self-reviews work, and that of others, for quality, accuracy and relevance

  • Knowledge of financial services industry and financial regulatory environment

  • Knowledge and understanding of key themes and concerns across the Firm

  • Experience in dealing with regulators is a plus

  • Good knowledge of the CIB Businesses and their products would be beneficial

  • Advanced knowledge of Spanish would be beneficial
