Strategic Sourcing Program Manager- MECC

Hybrid onsite schedule 2-3 days per week

As the Strategic Sourcing Program manager, you will be located at Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC), Brooklyn Center, MN, USA site and will be the Operations Sourcing liaison with Site Operations, Planning, Quality, and Finance organizations in the resolution of supply related issues.

A Day in the Life

In this role, you will participate and/or lead Sourcing strategic activities, especially those involving identification, implementation and alignment of global sourcing strategies, supply assurance, risk mitigation, sourcing continuous improvement, managing Last time buy/Strategic buys, conducting SIOP with suppliers and driving long term initiatives by collaborating across the organization and supplier to maintain continuity of supply.

You will:

•Maintain and promote strong relationships with Suppliers, Operations Scheduling, Supplier Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Operations Quality, Category Management and any other internal customers

•Attend in-plant production meetings (Tier Reviews) - report status of key material issues/updates specifically impacting long term supply risk and function as a project manager in driving them to completion and mitigating supply risk

•Participate in Tier Escalation Meetings with Functional and Site Leaders

•Monitor Strategic Inventory Purchases (SIP) / Last Time Buys (LTB) management and maintain tracking files. Work with category management and supplier to mitigate exposure to SIP/LTB

•Be an active voice of MECC from a sourcing perspective to NPD teams and participate in supplier selection, liaison with Program management and Technical sourcing in component risk mitigation through phase gate NPD process

•Manage or support supplier capacity management initiatives to meet long term Medtronic Requirements. Work with category management and suppliers to bring capital proposals for AOP considerations for capital approval to aid improvement in supplier capacity

•Performs special projects as assigned including but not limited to: new product introductions, the coordination of phase out activities, lifecycle management, and material cost reduction initiatives

•Support excess and obsolescence process and raw material disposition at site as needed

•Lead periodic Supplier Performance meetings, including content/scorecard development

•If applicable, liaison with the Category Management in the development of Category strategies, Participates in Strategic Supplier Reviews to drive value improvement opportunities

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have

•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Materials Management, or Supply Chain related field;

•Solid Office 365 skills, especially Excel knowledge (vlookup, pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc.);

•Solid Analytical Skills, using PowerBI;

•Expert understanding and experience with integrated manufacturing software systems such as SAP, Blue Yonder

•Working knowledge of Demand Flow, JIT, K-Loop, Lean Manufacturing

•Experience in leading and influencing negotiations, project management, troubleshooting and problem-solving analysis, strategic thinking and collaborative team building.

•Exposure to supply chain, planning, purchasing, materials and inventory control environment

•Strong interpersonal, communication and cross-functional team facilitation skills

•Ability to influence for results in a matrixed organization

•Knowledge of regulatory environments (i.e. ISO, FDA-GMP, etc.) or equivalent
