POSITION OVERVIEW

Performs service repair and system installation work of Tech Electronics' systems; assuring that Tech Electronics' standards of quality are maintained during the system repair/installation process. Ensures systems are repaired/installed completely and efficiently per local and national codes. Performs project management of standalone or networked communication systems, and moves, adds and changes. Maintains and consistently displays advanced skills in the fundamentals of project management. 70% of work time.

  • Coordinates work for other members of the Service team, identifies training needs, certifications and provides performance feedback.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the customer on system functionality, satisfactorily completing assigned system repairs and installations, and other tasks assigned by their Supervisor and /or Leader.
  • Responsible for overseeing the entire system repair/installation process of Tech Electronics' systems at the customer site; ensures that the system repairs/installations meet the needs of the customer.
  • Maintains communications with their Supervisor and /or Leader throughout the service/installation request, as requested.
  • Maintains a detailed understanding of all local and national codes applicable to Tech Electronics' systems and ensures systems adhere to applicable codes.
  • Maintains accurate and complete paperwork for each and every service/installation work order; turns in all paperwork associated with the service/installation request per company processes.
  • Maintains truck stock as specified by their Supervisor and /or Leader in order to increase first call completion of assigned service calls; provides feedback to their Supervisor regarding changes to truck stock in order to increase first call completion.
  • Obtains and maintains manufacturer and industry certifications as scheduled by their Supervisor and /or Leader.
  • Understands and adheres to the service and safety standards developed and defined by the Company and administered by their Supervisor and /or Leader.
  • Responsible for suggesting methods to improve operations, processes, efficiency, and service to both internal and external customers.
  • Obeys and abides by all company rules and policies.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees and managers to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement.
  • Works with dispatcher/ inspection scheduler and Operations Manager to coordinate work plans for the service/ installation
  • Reports issue, concerns and successes to Operations manager and participates in leadership meetings to address performance concerns or new initiatives.
  • This position will coordinate the responsibilities of the service/operations team to efficiently complete work to satisfy customers.
  • Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure the project scope and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Adheres to Tech Electronics project management process. Performs project management (resource scheduling, team building, work breakdown structures, project objectives, scope of work, job costing, implementation plans, sit downs, subcontractor management, project communications, project documentation) of all projects as designat d.
  • Provides system design and technical support at the point of system installation.

  • Oversees project quality assurance to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
  • Monitors job status and controls job costs to ensure that each project is completed on-time and within stated budget.
  • Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear manner throughout the duration of the project.
  • Implements day-to-day direction of all field activities and is responsible for all job site activities. Ensures timely and efficient execution of field work; Acts as the primary client contact for all project field activities.
  • Conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard construction techniques.
  • Communicates clearly and directly with all team members concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability.
  • Understands industry regulations (both current and expected changes), and local and national codes relevant to all company services

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 7-10 years' experience in installation and programming fire alarms
  • Valid state Driver's License
  • Leadership experience, managing or coordinating work with other team mates
  • Associate's Degree in a technical field or equivalent industry work experience.
  • Detailed working knowledge of the National Electric Code and the BOCA National Building Codes.
  • Must be proficient in use of computers; Must be able to navigate in MS-Word and MS-Excel
  • Two years' experience working as a project manager of construction-related projects (preferred but not required)
  • NICET, and/or CTS certifications are a plus
