Sr Quality Engineer

Job Description:

Senior Quality Engineers – Power Tools

Job duties:

  • Research, develop and revise Quality Policies, Procedures, System Instructions, Process Control Plans and Work Instructions.

  • Coordinate and lead cross functional complex product teardowns. Develop actions and plans based on findings and follow up actions to completion. May manage project team members.

  • Conduct root cause analysis activities with Engineering on challenging systems related to Batteries, Chargers, Power Tools, and Hydraulic Power Tools

  • Develop workflows for tool collections, data collection, and root cause analysis to drive action for product support improvements.

  • Analyze warranty, battery/tool usage, and customer feedback data to drive product improvements.

  • Lead timely root cause identification and effective corrective/preventive action.

  • Perform process and quality system audits to ensure compliance to specifications and documented procedures.

  • Develop criteria and acceptance levels for product teardown failure analysis. Drive actions for Engineering and product support teams.

  • Maintain a current knowledge of:

  • The latest gauging methods, procedures and software and introduce them into the company where appropriate.

  • The latest drawing and test specification standards (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance, etc.)

  • Statistical process control and AQL sampling methodologies.

  • The structure and workings of the Milwaukee Quality Management System and all certifying agency requirements.

Job Requirements:

Master’s or equivalent degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related engineering field and 2 years relevant experience or Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related engineering field and 5 years relevant experience. Experience must include:

  • Quality Engineering Fundamentals

  • Lithium-Ion technology & batteries

  • PCBA’s, circuitry, and electronics

  • Hydraulics & hydraulic systems knowledge

  • Design of Experiments, life data analysis, and other related statistical tools and software (Minitab, Reliasoft, or JMP).

  • Quality management systems and structures including auditing and control plan creation.

Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
