Job Description:
Senior Design Engineers – Vacuums & Fans
Job duties:
Use highly developed engineering expertise and project management abilities to lead the design and development of new vacuum and fan systems.
Use highly developed engineering expertise and project management abilities to support the design and development of existing vacuum and fan systems.
Serve as a chief technical resource and mechanical engineering leader on mid to high complexity engineering projects for vacuum and fan systems.
Provide clear engineering information to Project Leaders and the Global Engineering teams facilitating trade off decisions.
Establish test regimens for products within scope of the project with minimal guidance. Deliver complete data analysis to support design recommendations.
Independently develop, write, and analyze testing reports in our internal laboratory.
Serve as a technical resource on the design of our vacuum and fan systems and collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure project success.
Establish best practice and design guides for vacuum and fan systems and components.
Execute a wide variety of engineering analyses utilizing Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical data analysis, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or related engineering field and 5 years of relevant design experience.
Design of Experiments and statistical analysis (Minitab or similar tools).
Finite Element Analysis, including static and dynamic strength CAE simulations (utilizing Ansys or similar software) and drop test simulations (utilizing Ansys or LS-DYNA software).
Designing vacuums, fan systems, and associated components.
Air flow system design and applying regulatory standards controlling design of air movement products.
Designing air flow systems to prevent static electrical failure modes.
Mechanical aptitude of engineering materials, mechanical properties, and manufacturing processes associated with these materials.
Applying GD&T to engineering drawings.
Creating complex tolerance stack-up analysis.
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
Partial weekly work from home is allowed on a regular basis.
