Performing Arts Center Manager
POSITION DETAILS
Hostos Community College seeks applications for a Performing Arts Center Manager. Reporting to the Center's Director, the successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of a 367-seat theater, 900-seat concert hall and 2,000 sq. foot art gallery, which presents in excess of 200 events per year. The Performing Arts Manager supervises the Office Coordinator, the contracted Box Office, and usher personnel. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Contracts all guest artists performing at the Center; coordinates all travel and visa requirements as needed.
Serves as the primary liaison with guest artists and works with Production Manager ensuring that all artist scheduling and requirements are met.
Manages College-sponsored event programming; works with student and faculty representatives to understand their needs and to ensure successful productions.
Manages finances for the Center including the preparation of the annual budget; oversees accounts payable and receivable.
Oversees relationship with College Finance Office and coordinates the preparation of profit & loss statements, balance sheets, statements of cash flows, and other reports as needed.
Manages payroll for all part-time and contracted staff.
Manages all insurance policies for the Center.
Markets the Center's theaters as rental facilities to create a stable rental client base, and build earned income for the Center.
Oversees the Center's calendar which includes developing and implementing the Center's reservation policy.
Develops rental contracts with input from the Production Manager ensuring that all renters comply with insurance, box office, technical and production policies.
Coordinates all necessary security coverage with campus safety personnel and all necessary janitorial services with the College's facilities office to include coverage of the theaters, dressing rooms, green room, and rest rooms.
Recruits, trains, assigns, and supervises all house personnel including House Manager, Head User and Ushers.
Ensures timely submission of event reports.
Supervises the Box Office staff ensuring proper coverage, the sale of tickets, and the submission of all necessary reconciliations and reports.
In the absences of the Director, represents the Center at College and public events as required.
Essential duties require on-campus presence. Additional related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.
The following qualifications are preferred:
Experience working in a higher education setting.
Strong experience managing events and working in a fast-paced environment.
Availability to work evening and weekend hours.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$70,453 - $86,645; commensurate with education and experience.
