POSITION DETAILS
The EOC Student Affairs Director for Student Support Services is responsible for managing the staff and activities of Student Support Services at the Bronx Educational Opportunity Center (EOC). These duties include counseling, orientations, ATTAIN lab, and job placement. Serves as liaison to community resources that benefit the EOC community. The EOC Student Affairs Director reports directly to the Executive Director of the Center.
The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Supervises and evaluates Student Services personnel, leading meetings and providing professional development opportunities to cultivate a professional, supportive, and performing support team.
• Leads the planning and implementation of standardized tests and other student assessments.
• Serves as the liaison between the Bronx EOC and various public agencies and programs, including the Department of Social Services.
• Leads the development of a strong partnership and career placement pipeline to support ongoing success.
• Directs and supervises the collection of technical data and the preparation of a variety of reports, statements, and communications. Provides analysis and recommendations.
• Directs the activities of assigned programs or services. Provides planning, implementation, administration, and evaluation of projects and services.
• Drives process improvements that enhance the Bronx EOC and ensure alignment with the Center, CUNY, and SUNY.
• Provides subject matter expertise in student affairs, career services, and advising policies and procedures.
• Develops, plans, implements, and administers organizational goals and objectives.
• Oversees data collection for report preparation.
• Leads the planning, implementation, and supervision of grants and other research activities at the Bronx EOC, collaborating with the Executive Director and senior staff members.
• Responsible for reporting events, participation, and outcomes related to Student Services areas—admissions, counseling, employment, and college initiatives. They oversee the entry of all data concerning these areas into Banner.
• Prepares status reports as required, summarizing the total activities and outcomes of Student Support Services.
• Oversees the development and management of the National Education Diploma program (NEDP) for the Bronx EOC.
• Supervises Employment Services staff and operations, including job preparation, job placement, internships, and career fairs.
• Directs activities in the Office of Career Counseling and Student Advancement and the Office of Employment and Career Services.
• Represents the Center Director at public and community events as needed.
• Addresses exceptional students related to the student code of conduct and challenges to student success.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• A master's degree in education, counseling, advisement, social work, or related field.
• At least six years of professional experience working with low-income or underserves student populations.
• Experience working in a postsecondary educational institution or adult education setting.
• Expertise in vocational training, computer literacy, job placement, internships, GED/ESL programs, and career counseling.
• Strong Leadership with demonstrated success in team management, professional development, and staff supervision.
• Knowledge of CUNY policies and procedures and understanding of the community-based educational environment.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners, such as government agencies and community organizations.

Oversees the planning, program development, and administration of student-related programs for an Educational Opportunity Center (EOC).
Develops plans for, and leads a variety of student programs and services, such as recruitment, admissions, retention, student activities, job placement, and community outreach
Evaluates the effectiveness of the portfolio of student services in supporting EOC goals; oversees data collection, tracking, and reporting systems
Partners with appropriate EOC units to institute enrollment and retention plans which provide services to students and applicants in an efficient and effective manner
Hires, supervises, and evaluates staff; actively develops opportunities for staff development and growth
Oversees departmental budget(s) and advises on allocation of funds
Serves as a member of the senior leadership team of the EOC, both internally and in outside forums
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$87,190-$96,602; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
