Assistant Professor - Counselor Education: School Counseling

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Qualified applicants demonstrate knowledge and skills for teaching within the Counselor Education: School Counseling curriculum and share responsibility for program, committee, and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, clinical supervision, program and course development, CACREP compliance, and other duties as assigned; engage in research, professional writing, and presentations; maintain professional identity as a School Counselor Educator and serve on program, departmental, school, college and university committees. Responsibilities include maintaining a teaching load of 18 credits per academic year, serving the Counselor Education: School Counseling program, CLLSE department, School of Education and CUNY Lehman College community. Faculty advise students and may assist in program and clinical coordination.

QUALIFICATIONS

Doctorate in Counselor Education; demonstrated scholarship or achievement; the ability to teach successfully in online and hybrid formats; strong commitment to social justice, anti-racism, and anti-oppression. School counseling experience in urban settings and bilingual a plus. -Doctoral degree in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited program or related degree and/or minimum of one full academic year serving faculty member in a Counselor Education program prior to July 1, 2013

-Evidence of an emerging research agenda and publication record in School Counseling.

-Certified as a school counselor or eligible for school counselor certification in New York State.

-Research/teaching/school or college counseling experience

-Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism, anti-oppression, diversity, equity, and inclusion

COMPENSATION

$90,375, additional summer teaching is possible for additional compensation.
